The 33-year-old midfielder has opened the door to a move back to Spain to give a helping hand to his former club, who have made a dismal start to the seasonBoca Juniors playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme has admitted that he would jump at the chance to play at Villarreal again.
The 33-year-old midfielder returned to Boca in 2007 after five years in Europe, four of which were spent at El Madrigal.
Villareal have been in disappointing form this season as they sit 17th in La Liga, and Riquelme says he would not think twice about helping out his former club.
"Well, I would go tomorrow," Riquelme told Marca. "I would ask Boca for permission and then I would go.
"Villarreal are also my club. It is part of my life. I have always loved it, they treated me wonderfully and if they need me, I will be there.
"I am sure they will do well anyway, but if they want, I will board a plane and go there."
During his time at Villarreal, Riquelme helped the Yellow Submarine to a third-place finish in La Liga in 2004-05.
