Giovani dos Santos could leave Tottenham Hotspur in the winter transfer window as Villarreal are interested in securing the services of the versatile attacker, according to Sport.

The Primera Division side are keen to strengthen their squad in January following their disappointing performances in the first half of the season, and they reportedly see the former Barcelona starlet as the perfect addition.

Dos Santos joined Tottenham from Barca in the summer of 2008, but has never really been able to secure regular first-team action and could therefore be allowed to move on this winter.

The 22-year-old has also been linked with Bolton Wanderers, but the Mexico international has reportedly set his sights on a return to Spain.

Dos Santos has a contract until the summer of 2013, but the Premier League side are ready to sell if a good offer comes in.
