Sevilla have revealed that they are in advanced talks with Maritimo over the signing of Baba Diawara.

According to the Spanish club's official website, the two clubs are close to reaching an agreement for the forward, who has been in fine goalscoring form in Portugal this season.

No further details regarding the proposed transfer were disclosed but Marca is reporting that the deal is likely be concluded within the next 24 hours, subject to a medical, and that Baba could be officially unveiled as a Sevilla player on Monday.

Diawara, who has only been capped once by his country, has struck 37 goals in 103 appearances for Maritimo since graduating from the club's B team in 2008.

The 24-year-old African has been particularly prolific this season, though, having netted 10 times in just 15 Portuguese Liga games.
