The former Milan star says that Guardiola's side are superior to Cruyff's 'Dream Team' and believes that the Rossoneri are not quite on the same level as Barca or Real MadridAC Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta has voiced his belief that the current crop of Barcelona players are better than Johan Cruyff's legendary side.
The so-called 'Dream Team' were defeated 4-0 by AC Milan in the 1994 Champions League final in Athens, but Costacurta, who was at San Siro at the time, believes the current Camp Nou team would never suffer such a defeat.
"Pep [Guardiola]'s Barcelona would never lose like in Athens," Costacurta told El Mundo Deportivo, "Pep is the best in the world when it comes to respecting rivals."
The two giants clash again on Wednesday evening in the Champions League, and Costacurta admits he was surprised to see his former team-mates draw at Camp Nou in September in the reverse encounter.
"I was surpised, especially given the superiority of Barca in all aspects of the game. But that won't happen again. This Milan is much more dangerous than the team in September.
"To cancel Messi out with man-marking is impossible. Messi can only be stopped when everyone works together - and with a lot of help from all of the players."
Finally, the 45-year-old played down Milan's chances of adding to their seven European titles.
"Honestly, I think Barcelona and Real Madrid are better than Milan."
