TEAM NEWS: Cristiano Ronaldo shakes off knock while Lassana Diarra starts for Real Madrid against Valencia

The Portuguese attacker has shaken off a thigh strain to be included in Jose Mourinho's starting line-up as the coach names three central midfielders
Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Arbeloa have both shaken off knocks picked up on international duty to be named in Jose Mourinho's first XI against Valencia on Saturday evening at Mestalla.

Elsewhere, with Angel Di Maria and Kaka both ruled out through injury, Lassana Diarra comes into a three-man midfield as Mesut Ozil and Ronaldo are chosen to support Karim Benzema in attack.

Ricardo Carvalho and Fabio Coentrao have both been in training this week but are rested for the game against Unai Emery's men.

Valencia hand a rare start to Daniel Parejo while veteran midfielder David Albelda partners Tino Costa in the centre of the park.

Real Madrid go into the weekend top of the table and will be looking for an eighth straight Liga victory while third-placed Valencia will be aiming to extend their six-game unbeaten run in the league.
