The visitors will now look to the attacking midfielder to provide similar invention and imagination in their midfield, after the former Boca star picked up a knee injury in the Champions League on Tuesday and will be out of action for around six weeks.
In addition, a further four alterations have been made, as Bruno, David Albelda, Jordi Alba and Artiz Aduriz come into the starting XI, with Miguel, Mehmet Topal, Pablo Hernandez and Jonas also being sacrificed by the Basque coach.
Meanwhile, Levante also make a couple of changes of their own from their 2-0 loss to Osasuna last weekend, as full-backs Asier Del Horno and Pedro Lopez are dropped in favour of Javi Venta and Juanfran.
