Andres Iniesta starts on the bench and will have to wait to make his 250th league appearance for Barcelona as coach Pep Guardiola names an experimental side to face Mallorca at Camp Nou on Saturday evening.
Iniesta, who made his Barca debut in October 2002 under Louis van Gaal and has gone on to become one of the world's finest players, is one of a host of first-team players left out of the starting line-up as Guardiola looks towards his side's Champions League clash at Viktoria Plzen in midweek.
Xavi is out of the squad altogether, while Cesc Fabregas is on the bench along with centre-backs Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique, both returning from injury.
Youngster Isaac Cuenca makes his second successive start, meanwhile, in the absence of injured trio Pedro, Alexis Sanchez and Ibrahim Afellay, while another starlet, Gerard Deulofeu, begins on the bench and could make his Barca debut.
