thumbnail Hello,

The 22-year-old's current club are keen to keep him at Mestalla, but he is said to be hoping for a return to his boyhood club

Spain international Jordi Alba could be on his way out of Valencia at the end of the season as the full-back has set his sights on a move to Barcelona, Sport reports.

The 22-year-old's current contract runs until the summer of 2013, but Los Che are keen to keep him at Mestalla and are ready to offer him a new and improved deal.

However, the left-back is not interested in opening contract talks at the moment as he has reportedly set his sights on a return to Camp Nou instead.

A recent report suggested that Barcelona are closely monitoring Alba's situation as they are looking for a replacement for Eric Abidal, whose contract with the Catalans expires at the end of the season, and see the Valencia defender as the perfect candidate.

Alba came through the ranks of the Barcelona youth academy before leaving the club for Cornella in 2005. He moved on to Valencia in the summer of 2007 and has developed into a key player at the Champions League hopefuls.
