thumbnail Hello,

The reigning Spanish and European champions have handed the promising 21-year-old centre-back a new deal which includes a buy-out clause worth €70 million

Barcelona defender Andreu Fontas has put pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at Camp Nou until 2015, the club confirmed on their official website.

The 21-year-old began to make inroads into Pep Guardiola's first team at the tail end of last season, before being officially promoted from Barcelona B during the summer.

Despite making just one appearance this season, during his side's 2-2 draw with Real Sociedad, the club have moved to tie the Catalan-born defender down until 2015, with a buy-out clause of €70 million.

Fontas made six appearances in La Liga last season, helping his side secure a third consecutive title.
