On top of missing the game on Saturday, Albelda may not feature in the Champions League clash against Chelsea on Wednesday, but no decision has been made as of yet.

Tino Costa looks set to replace the midfielder for the next fixture, with Hedwiges Maduro also an option.

Mehmet Topal, Valencia's other defensive midfielder and occasional starter, is also out with an injury.

Valencia currently sit at the summit of La Liga with 10 points, one ahead of both Malaga and Betis.
