thumbnail Hello,

The young midfielder is eagerly anticipating the clash with the Santiago Bernabeu outfit and is brimming with confidence ahead of the first leg

Barcelona youngster Thiago Alcantara is confident that the Catalans have what it takes to beat Real Madrid in the two-legged Spanish Supercopa tie.

The first leg will be played at Santiago Bernabeu this Sunday, while the second clash takes place at Camp Nou three days later and Alcantara has little doubt that Barcelona will come out winners.

"It's quite simple: I think that Barcelona will win and conquer the trophy. When you master all defensive and offensive aspects of the game and always enjoy the majority of possession, you're sitting in pole position to win," Alcantara said to Sport.

"We realise that our hard work and typical style of play have led to a lot of success and will continue to play like this. Real Madrid are our biggest rivals and you never want to lose against them. That's the case now, too."

Barcelona beat Sevilla 5-3 on aggregate in last year's Spanish Supercopa and they'll be keen to retain their title this term.
