The Turkey international completed his move from Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund to the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this summer and has no doubts that his new club are the greatest of all time.
"Barcelona are an excellent team and have been in great form recently. However, Real Madrid have been chosen as the best club of the century by the football authorities. Therefore, Madrid are still the best club in the world," Sahin was quoted as saying by AS.
The 22-year-old then went on to discuss his expectations for the new season and Sahin is confident that he'll secure regular first-team action at the capital giants.
"The coach wants me to take care of the organisation in midfield. I have a lot of faith in my own qualities and expect to become a starter. I have no doubts about myself and will do my utmost to succeed."
Sahin joins Hamit Altintop, Jose Callejon and Raphael Varane as new recruits at Madrid this summer, and will have to battle with players like Sami Khedira, Xabi Alonso, Fernando Gago and Lassana Diarra for a place in midfield.
