The Argentine midfielder praised his international team-mate and added that his recent comments on Barcelona were misunderstood

Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago believes fellow Argentina international and Atletico Madrid attacker Sergio Aguero would add something to any team in the world.

Aguero recently stated that he has set his sights on a move away from the Vicente Calderon in this summer¡s transfer window and clubs such as Madrid and Juventus are closely monitoring his situation.

"Aguero is a player who could contribute a lot to any team in my opinion. It's not the right time to talk about it though. We're focused on the Copa America now," Gago said in quotes published by AS.

Despite Madrid's interest in the attacker, Juventus currently appear to be in pole position to sign Aguero following comments from the player's representative that he is interested in a move to Turin.

Gago also briefly discussed his recent comments about Barcelona and said that he had been misquoted. The midfielder had reportedly stated that the Catalans were the best team in the world and claimed Madrid fans refused to accept their rivals' dominance.

"My words were misinterpreted. What I said can be seen on video to clear up this misunderstanding," he said.

Gago is currently preparing for the 2011 Copa America with Argentina's national side, who open the tournament with a match against Bolivia on July 1.
