Thiago Silva: I have spoken with Barcelona but I play for AC Milan
Brazil international says that the Catalan club have approached him, but he has urged them to speak to his current paymasters if they want to take the matter further
Thiago Silva admits he has held talks with Barcelona and has invited the Camp Nou side to begin negotiations with AC Milan if they wish to sign him.Speaking to the television programme 'Zico na area' on TV Esporte Interactivo, the 26-year-old Brazil international said: "I have had contact with people from Barca. It’s a really cool thing to be able to talk to them.
"Now, I’m at Milan. It’s been three months, two months since I renewed my contract, to the end of 2016, so they would have to speak directly with the club."
Silva then went on to praise Barcelona's passing game, saying: "It's complicated to play against that team. They get you nervous.
"I had the opportunity to play against their reserves and I was really nervous. Their passing game is just so perfect."
His recent extension suggests Milan will be in no mood to let him go after signing him from Fluminense three years ago.
However, Sport.es claims Silva could be the defender of choice for Barca coach Pep Guardiola this summer.
Milan recently signed Philippe Mexes from Roma as an alternative to Alessandro Nesta alongside the Brazilian ace.
But Silva's surprise comments are likely to give rise to speculation that he could move on before next term.
