The reigning Spanish champions are reportedly close to securing the services of the promising midfielder on a three-year contract
The Catalans will reportedly pay Zaragoza a fee of €300,000 for the services of the Ecuadorian starlet, who has allegedly signed a three-year deal at Camp Nou.
The 17-year-old midfielder caught the attention of the Spanish champions with a string of fine performances in the Zaragoza youth academy in the 2010-11 campaign, and the Catalans are hopeful that Valencia has what it takes to break into the first team over the long term.
Valencia will feature at the under-17 World Cup for Ecuador from June 18 to July 10 in Mexico.
Barcelona and Zaragoza have yet to officially confirm the transfer of the young midfielder, but the deal is expected to be announced ahead of the weekend.
Should the switch be concluded, Valencia is likely to begin his development in the club's B team, who compete in Spain's Segunda Division.
