The Brazilian attacker will miss the final game of the season after tearing a muscle fibre in his left hamstring against Athletic Bilbao
Spanish side Malaga will be without in-form forward Julio Baptista for their final match of the season against Barcelona.
The former Roma player tore a muscle fibre in his left hamstring during Monday's 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao in the Primera Division.
Baptista underwent tests on Tuesday and has now been sidelined for Malaga’s weekend encounter with the Spanish champions.
"[Baptista] is totally ruled out for the game against Barcelona on Saturday, and will need approximately two or three weeks rest to see how the injury develops," Malaga’s medical officer Juan Carlos Perez Frias is quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
"He should have no problems starting next season,” he added.
The 29-year-old former Sevilla and Real Madrid attacker joined Malaga in January this year and scored nine goals in 11 league appearances.
