Coach of the Andalucian giants is wary of the visitors’ desperation to return to winning ways and bounce back from their Champions League exit in midweek
Jose Mourinho’s team are winless in their last three competitive games, during which they have been knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage.
The former Spanish champions are also eight points behind league leaders Barcelona with just four more rounds of matches left in the championship this campaign.
Manzano believes that Madrid will be keen to return to winning ways and is quoted by Spanish daily AS as saying: “Three games without a win is not normal [for Madrid].
“Madrid will play with intensity tomorrow at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, so we should not relax.”
Sevilla are currently fifth in the league standings, level on points with Atletico Madrid. They are a point ahead of Athletic Bilbao and four that of Espanyol.
Manzano knows the importance of picking up maximum points tomorrow and said: “It is fundamental that we do not stumble tomorrow. There is a difference of just four points [among four teams].”
