Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho thinks that his side can finish the season strongly after their Copa del Rey win was followed up with a stunning 6-3 win at the Mestalla.
"We can finish this season strongly with the feeling that we are capable of winning at any stadium. The likes of Sergio Ramos and Angel Di Maria, who stayed at home or who were on the bench, were pleased to see their team-mates winning," he told the post-game press conference.
Mourinho reflected on an excellent week for the capital club and went on to say that the team would be given a day off tomorrow given their busy recent schedule:
"In a competition where we are not favourites, the team has won well and played some spectacular football. And this after winning the cup. We have accomplished our mission in Valencia and completed two very tough games in three days."
"We will spend Sunday with our families and then train on Monday afternoon."
Implying that he would give little heed to Barcelona's encounter with Osasuna, he added, "The weekend's football is over for me."
The former Inter and Chelsea boss also revealed that he believes things will only get better for Real Madrid next season:
"The second season should be better than the first. The team will be stronger having got used to the coach and we will make two or three changes in the summer. We have won a title and we are in the semi finals of the Champions League."
