Jose Mourinho's Madrid are disappointingly weak, claims legend Alfredo Di Stefano, who feels they are only a fraction of the side that Barcelona are
The first of four clasico's ended in a 1-1 draw on Saturday evening as Madrid could only settle for a point with Barca at the Bernabeu.
Di Stefano feels Jose Mourinho has not been able to tame the Blaugrana's brilliance as the Catalan outfit remain eight points ahead in the race for the title.
And with the two sides set to lock horns in the Copa del Rey final on Wednesday night, the former legendary forward believes Mourinho's force to liberate his men from Barcelona domination is looking weak.
"The football Barcelona played at the Bernabeu was simply brilliant. Their superiority was clear," Di Stefano is quoted as saying by Sport.
"Madrid played against a Barcelona side who dominated the midfield throughout the whole game.
"It's clear Barca were superior to Madrid... they were a team with no personality.
"Their approach was clearly wrong."
Di Stefano continued his analysis of the differences in both teams, calling into question Mourinho's tactics.
"Trying to base the play around counter attacks is not the best way to try and surprise the opposition," he said.
The former hitman defended Lionel Messi who came under fire despite scoring a penalty, and described him as the best.
"He is the best in the world, his football is spectacular. He is also an example of professionalism which is unmatched," he concluded.
The Copa del Rey final will be played at the Mestalla on Wednesday evening.
