A selection of Barcelona players including Lionel Messi will undergo doping tests carried out in a control by UEFA at the Ciutat Esportiva de Sant Joan Despi on Thursday.
Sport.es reports Ibrahim Afellay, Xavi, David Villa, Jeffren, Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta, Javier Mascherano, Victor Valdes and Pinto have also been chosen at radom to give urine samples for analysis.
It's the second time this season Barcelona players have been tested with the last coming less than a month ago.
Last year the club's players underwent three anti-doping tests from UEFA. The move comes in a week when Barcelona threatened legal action against a Spanish radio station who alleged the Camp Nou club had links with disreputable doctors.
Pique has already reacted to the tests: "We have an anti-doping control today by UEFA, what a coincidence," he posted on his Twitter page.
