Barcelona ace Lionel Messi is stronger than Argentina legend Diego Maradona, believes former River Plate playmaker Enzo Francescoli.
The 23-year-old stole the show in Tuesday's Champions League showdown with Arsenal, scoring two goals in a 3-1 win to send his side through to the quarter-finals, 4-3 on aggregate.
Former Uruguay international Francescoli, who played in Argentina when Maradona was on top of the world, feels that Messi proved why he is the greatest of all time in the victory over the English club.
"You will be surprised when I say that Messi is stronger than Maradona," he told France Football.
"I really think he this. Plus, his development is not yet complete. I also think Messi will go on to win another two Ball d'Or awards."
