Atletico Madrid winger Jose Reyes insists the players must take the blame for their current poor run.
The capital club has achieved just a solitary victory in their last 10 matches, putting them completely out of contention for a Champions League position, while the defence of their Europa League crown failed at the first hurdle.
Speaking to the media today, the former Arsenal and Real Madrid midfielder asserted that Sanchez Flores remains the man that the team want in charge.
He said, “The players are to blame for this situation, no-one else. We have full confidence in the coach, and we must all pull in the same direction. This is a difficult moment for us, what we must do now is go out and defeat Zaragoza in our next match, and go for three points from the beginning.
“The team goes out to win every game, but has had no luck lately. Our conclusion is to go out on Saturday and give everything. We all try to do things right, sometimes they go wrong, but our attitude is to never give up.”
