Sevilla coach Gregorio Manzano insists that striker Frederic Kanoute is capable of “wonderful things” after the African netted twice in their morale-boosting win over Real Sociedad in San Sebastian.
In an end-to-end match, the Basque side had led twice, but Kanoute found the winning goal in the second half to give Los Nervionenses their third consecutive win in 2011.
Speaking to the media after the match, Manzano praised the efforts of the experienced front man, saying: “Kanoute has today been outstanding.
“He has many qualities and surprises in every area of the pitch. The player is doing wonderful things. We have overcame many troubles and burdens. We still have some areas that we need to improve, and we need to show more personality.”
Sevilla’s win edged them back into the top 10 and within five points of fourth-placed Valencia, who face Levante on Sunday evening.
