If Jose Mourinho Is 11 Out Of 10, Then Barcelona Are 12 - Dani Alves

Daniel Alves responds to Jose Mourinho, saying if he deems himself to be 11 out of 10, Barcelona are one better.

Barcelona full-back Dani Alves has cheekily responded to Jose Mourinho’s recent remarks, claiming that if the Portuguese awards himself 11 out of 10 for his achievements in 2010, then the Blaugrana should be 12 out of 10.

Mourinho had made the statement when asked how he felt he had performed during the year, but the Brazilian responded in an interview with AS, saying: “For me, I would give our team a 12. However, I have respect for Mourinho. I am in favour of having self-esteem as high as possible.”

Alves also discussed the contract negotiations with the Camp Nou giants that are still ongoing, and reiterated his desire to remain at the club if the terms are suitable.

He added: “I would like to continue and I do not plan to leave the club. But I will not give in to anyone. It has cost me much effort to get here, and if we do not reach an agreement, then nothing happens. I will enjoy the time I have with this team, and I will be just as professional as always.”

Alves also assessed Copa del Rey opponents Athletic Bilbao, adding: “It will be a difficult tie. We suffered against Sevilla last season and we were eliminated, and we should know that this will not be a tie that is resolved at the Camp Nou.”
