Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna has confirmed that he is currently in negotiations with the club over a contract extension, and is confident of agreeing terms within the next few days.
The adopted Spaniard, who won the European Championships in 2008, has been a regular in the Yellow Submarines first team for almost a decade.
His current deal at El Madrigal expires in the summer, and the 34-year-old has stated that he is currently thrashing out terms over an agreement to remain at the club.
It was thought that the player was holding out for a two-year deal, with the club only willing to offer a single season, but AS reports that the veteran said: “I have a desire to continue to play, and I am confident that everything will be sorted out soon.”
Earlier this week, team-mates Joan Capdevila and Cani put pen to paper on new contracts, as coach Juan Carlos Garrido looks to secure the future of his established stars.
