Barcelona are sending scouts to Benfica's upcoming league match against Olhanense to have a look at Fabio Coentrao...
The Catalans aren't completely satisfied with the performances of Eric Abidal at left-back and are therefore looking to add a new full-back to their squad. Sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta reportedly sees Coentrao as the perfect signing for the Blaugrana.
The 22-year-old has developed into one of the star players at Benfica and his good performances haven't gone unnoticed in the rest of Europe. Coentrao has previously been linked with clubs such as Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester City.
The report claims that Barcelona have already scouted the left-back on more than one occasion in the past couple of weeks and they will again send a scouting team to Portugal this week for the match between Benfica and Olhanense.
Coentrao has an ongoing contract with Benfica though, meaning that he won't be available on the cheap if Barcelona decide to make a move for the Portugal international.
