Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has requested that the Santiago Bernabeu crowd give the team their full backing in order to overcome Real Murcia in the Copa del Rey.
The first leg ended goalless two weeks ago, meaning los Blancos have work to do in order to secure a smooth progression to the next round, although the Portuguese coach is likely to rest a number of his first team stars for the contest.
Speaking in a media conference this morning, Mourinho said of the match: “I know it is hard, but I’d like a warm reception from the Bernabeu. I know that it is a cultural issue, but I’d like to see a warmer atmosphere.
“For me, tomorrow is the biggest game of the season so far, which may seem contradictory when the rival you face is from a division below, but this is a game which, after a draw in the first leg, a bad result cannot be deleted. So, this is the most crucial match.”
Los Blancos remain unbeaten so far this season under the tutelage of Mourinho, having already qualified from their Champions League group and also sitting atop the Primera Division table.
