Valencia winger Joaquin has refuted claims of a crisis at the club following their 1-1 home draw against relegation-threatened Zaragoza at the Mestalla on Saturday evening.
Los Che barely scraped a share of the spoils when Blanquillos Maurizio Lanzaro cancelled out his own opening goal be netting at the wrong end on the stroke of half-time.
The result extends the Mestalla club’s winless run to four matches in all competitions, but Joaquin said in the wake of the result: “This is a downer, the team has no confidence, we have difficulty in our home match and we must be stronger. However, there is no crisis.
“We must get ahead again, to return to the form we showed when we were competing at the start of the season and leave this poor run of results behind.”
Joaquin also gave his backing to the coach Unai Emery, adding: “I do not question his work or his philosophy, if this year we qualify for the Champions League again it will be due to his good work.
“We must now focus on the match on Tuesday [against Rangers] and go in with the attitude and the mentality to win three points.”
