Nelson Marcos has indicated that he would relish the prospect of meeting up with old team-mate Angel Di Maria, despite being on an opposing side, when his Osasuna team meet Real Madrid on Saturday evening.
The right-back may well come in direct competition with the Argentine, whom he played with during a spell in Portugal with Benfica. With los Rojillos having made a great effort to capture the 27-year-old’s signature on loan from Betis, he is expected to make his debut in the capital against his former cohort.
Nelson speaks highly of Di Maria, explaining to AS: “I would be nice to meet him but I’m sure I should be working... I like myself against players like him, and even more so in a big stadium like the Bernabeu.
“He's done a good job in recent years and now is a very different player I met at Benfica. Has always had a lot of quality but was inconsistent. Now is a mature player and very complete.”
Asked if he may adopt a physical approach in the tussle, Nelson stated: “I don’t like to hurt anyone.”
Osasuna start the match as heavy underdogs against a strong Madrid outfit.
