Barcelona's Carles Puyol Almost Certain To Miss Hercules Game
Veteran defender Carles Puyol looks set to miss Saturday's Primera Liga tie against Hercules at Camp Nou due to calf injury.
By Paul Madden
The central defender suffered a calf injury in the warm-up ahead of the Blaugrana's Primera Liga opener against Racing Santander at El Sardinero late last month and as a result had to sit out Spain's Euro 2012 qualifying victory over Liechtenstein and subsequent friendly loss to Argentina.
Puyol is happy with the progress he is making even though he is set to sit out the first league game of the season at Camp Nou.
"Every day I feel better and after training today there are very good feelings," the 32-year-old revealed via his Twitter account.
It had been expected that Puyol would be ruled out for a period of three weeks but his recovery is progressing well and may yet feature in the UEFA Champions League tie against Panathinaikos next Tuesday.
