Real Zaragoza midfielder Edmilson believes that Barcelona are the favourites to win the Spanish Primera Division this season.
The former Barcelona midfielder was in the Catalan capital to attend the friendly game between Barcelona B and Brazil and after the match gave his opinion on a number of issues.
“I am sure Barca will be just as motivated with eight world champions among them," the Brazilian told the Blaugrana's official website. "I was very pleased. I spent four very good years with these people. Barca are still favourites along with Madrid."
He went on to speak about the influence of Pep Guardiola in the club's reserve side.
“You can see the hand of Pep. They play with widely spaced centre backs, and a goalkeeper who collects the ball well. [These players] need the right mentality about them in case they are needed by the first team, so that way they won’t find it so hard to adapt to their style of play."
The 34-year-old Brazilian also gave his thoughts on compatriots Daniel Alves and Adriano.
“Adriano and Alves have been playing in Europe for some time and know how to defend well, close down positions and then move up into attack."
