Osasuna coach Jose Antonio Camacho believes Spanish football should thank Jose Mourinho for coming to manage Real Madrid, and that he was "brave" to leave European champions Inter for the Santiago Bernabeu.

The former los Blancos and Spanish international boss takes his Los Rojillos’ side to the capital on Saturday evening in Mourinho’s first competitive match in front of the Madridistas.

Speaking in an interview with publication Marca, Camacho took time to praise the development of his former club over the summer, not only with the addition of the Portuguese coach, but also in terms of the signings they have made.

He stated: “I admire [Jose] Mourinho as much as I admire [Pep] Guardiola. Mourinho and Guardiola are my references, as these men magnify the coaching profession.

“Mourinho must have been brave to leave everything [at Inter] to come to Madrid, and we should thank him for his arrival. The signings that he has made have been young, good and hungry.

“On Saturday however we go to Madrid with the same intentions that we demonstrated last year.”
