After losing their opening day match to Athletic Bilbao, the newly-promoted side face a baptism of fire after being drawn to face the Blaugrana in the cauldron that is the Camp Nou in just the second fixture of the campaign.
However, Sport reports that the defender believes that if the team treat the match like any other and not become overawed by the occasion, they can give a good account of themselves.
He said: “Although it is Barcelona, we should treat it like any other game, but it is one of the most difficult weeks to face a rival such as them.
“We have to do a good job and enjoy the moment, try to steal the ball and keep it when we have it. It is a 90-minute game, anything can happen. If you go in with fear, you can easily concede four or five goals.
“We must perform well as a team and ensure everyone is very focused.”
Hercules have returned to the Primera Division for the first time in 15 years, promoted alongside Levante and Real Sociedad.
