Spain coach Vicente del Bosque is looking forward to Tuesday night's friendly match against Argentina in what he hopes will be “a good advertisement for the game of football”.

The world champions approach the friendly at El Monumentla on the back of their 4-0 win in the Euro 2012 qualifier against Liechtenstein on Friday evening.

“We have more responsibilities now because we are world champions,” del Bosque told Marca.

“We can't just stop now, because in their careers, players must be looking to win more and more.”

Spain last played against Argentina in November 2009 and they defeated the Albiceleste 2-1 at the Estadio Vicente Calderon.

“Last time it was a good game, very hard-fought. We shouldn't lose that attitude.

“Argentina are a great national team. Their footballers are always competitive, they have quality and quickly adapt to our football which is why it is hard to see one fail in Europe.

“Regardless of what happened in South Africa, their national team will always be highly rated."

Regarding star man Lionel Messi, del Bosque claimed, “In the last meeting he was looked after very well.

“Leo is a fantastic player. We have players who know him well, but he is capable of finding a solution to every problem. Even if he didn't score at the World Cup, he was extraordinary. It was just bad luck because he could have hit the back of the net several times.”
