Sevilla have yet to offer flying winger Jesus Navas an extension to his current contract, according to reports.

Goal.com Spain comments that the Andalucian side were expected to tie up the Spanish international on a long-term deal to ensure his future lay at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Striker Luis Fabiano last week signed a two-year add-on to his existing deal to contract him to the club until the summer of 2013.

With the issue of renewing the Brazilian combined with the speculation on coach Antonio Alvarez’s future after the hugely disappointing Champions League exit to Sporting Braga, Navas’ new deal has not been considered.

The 24-year-old’s representatives confirmed in a statement: “We have not spoken to anyone and we have not had a meeting with the club’s board.”

Navas is contracted until 2012, but in order to ward off any potential interest, president Jose Maria del Nido is expected to commence negotiations as soon as possible.

The quicksilver wide man has been at the club since he joined the youth ranks in 2000, and it is unlikely that he would currently consider a move away elsewhere.
