Sevilla defender Sergio Sanchez has returned to first team training with the Andalusian outfit just over three months after he underwent surgery to address a heart condition, Marca reports.

The 24-year-old centre back has been ruled out of the game since January after his condition was discovered but it appears he is on track to make his comeback early in 2011.

A youth product of Espanyol, Sanchez signed for los Nervionenses in a
4 million move in July last year but featured on just seven occasions for Sevilla before being diagnosed with this heart condition.

His continued recuperation is expected to be a slow and deliberate process, given that another Sevilla player Antonio Puerta died as a result of cardiac arrest during a game against Getafe in 2007.
