Pablo Hernandez Looking For Valencia To Provide Successive League Wins

After their opening day victory, Pablo Hernandez feels it's important for Valencia to continue their winning form next week.

Pablo Hernandez hopes Valencia can build on their opening-day Primera Division victory and make it six points out of six by defeating Racing Santander in their next outing.

Los Che welcome the Cantabrians after the international break, and the two sides had contrasting opening weekends, with Hernandez’s side recording a 3-1 win versus Malaga, whereas Racing were outclassed by Barcelona at El Sardinero, losing 3-0.

The 25-year-old hopes that the club can build on the confidence attained by kicking off the season with victory, and heap more misery on Racing.

AS reports that the winger stated: “If we get six points in the first two games it will be very important for the start of the season, but we will need to wait until the end of the season to discover if we have improved overall. We perhaps have a smaller squad than last year, but our team is not that different.”

Hernandez continued to discuss the shape of the team, where David Villa and David Silva were notable departures, and a whole host of players have been signed during the summer months, but he is of the opinion that Valencia players can still force their way into the Spanish national team.

He said: “It is unbelievable that where once we had so many players in the Spain selection, we now have none. I hope that many players will have the opportunity to play for Spain soon, but it is especially difficult because this current squad are world champions.”
