Sergio Ramos: It Is Too Early In The Season To Compare Barcelona And Real Madrid
Spain defender Sergio Ramos insists comparisons between Barcelona and Real Madrid are "too early".
By Paul Macdonald
Ramos’ side could only limp to a 0-0 draw in Mallorca while Andres Iniesta inspired the Blaugrana to a comprehensive 3-0 victory in Santander, meaning los Blancos are already playing catch-up to the champions.
Speaking after linking up with his Spanish international team-mates at Las Rozas, he said of the opening weekend of the season: “It is too early to compare either club. The season is long. They [Barcelona] won because they are a great team.
“However, we are also going to improve. It is normal for everyone to focus on their own performances.”
Ramon furthered this sentiment by adding that the results will improve as the team keep working hard to gel together.
He claimed: “The important thing is that we keep on improving, to make Real Madrid an even better team, and improve our game as much as possible.”
Injury-hit Real Madrid will hope to have some of their crocked individuals such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe available for selection after the current international break.
