Tottenham Hotspur Eyeing Valencia Midfielder Manuel Fernandes - Report
Portuguese midfielder could be on his way...
By Paul Madden
Having secured their place in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League, Spurs are understood to be keen to strengthen their options in midfield and have apparently identified the 24-year-old Portuguese star as a target.
Fernandes has already had spells in the Premier League with Portsmouth and Everton and also saw a move to the Toffees collapse before he joined los Che from Benfica 2007. Following the arrival of Tino Costa and Mehmet Topal, Fernandes has dropped further down the pecking order at the Mestalla and had previously expressed a desire to depart in search of regular game time.
It has also been suggested that Hugo Viana could end his association with Valencia by joining Braga on a permanent deal. The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at the Portuguese side and hasn't featured for Valencia in two years.
