Alexis Disappointed By Sevilla's Champions League Elimination
Hopeful of having a good season in Andalusia...
By Paul Madden
Central defender Alexis has admitted that he was sad to see his new club Sevilla eliminated from the UEFA Champions League but noted that he still has high hopes for the season after completing his transfer from Valencia.
The 25-year-old stopper, who can also operate as a full back, finalised his €5 million move to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Wednesday morning after a medical, putting pen to paper on a five year deal with the Andalusian side.
Alexis was at the stadium on Tuesday night to witness los Nervionenses 4-3 second leg defeat to Portuguese side Braga but despite that disappointment he is looking forward to playing with his new team.
"I want to get stuck in and give everything to help the team and hope to have a great year, satisfying many dreams. I was a little sad that we did not get into the Champions League but the team is good and now is the time to stand up and work hard," he told AS.
