Valencia Coach Unai Emery Expects Strong Showing In Fiorentina Test
Two friendlies remaining for los Che before season starts...
By Paul Madden
Valencia coach Unai Emery is expecting a strong performance from his side in their penultimate pre-season friendly against Fiorentina on Wednesday.
Emery has stressed that the result of the forthcoming fixture against the Serie A side is of little consequence but he believes the performance against top quality opposition will be a good test of where his team are in terms of preparation for the new term.
"The team is in preparation and now we take it a step further. They are an opponent of a high level, but with our fans and with good conditions, I expect to see a good Valencia," he told a press conference.
"The tests are performed in pre-season. This Wednesday is another step in that, continuing to prepare the team. Now is the time to work, even if it is true that the competition [la Liga] is close and we hope that things go well. We have two games with an aim of getting closer to what we expect in the season.
"We go with optimism and ambition to play good football and reach the goals that Valencia deserve."
