Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan claims that the mattress-makers have every chance of defeating treble winners Inter in the European Super Cup. The former Manchester United man admits the Nerazzurri are a tough opponent, but insists his side can play good football.

"Despite playing against a great team that has great players and boasted a great season last year, we still have a chance," he explained, according to La Repubblica.

"I hope we will play a good game and try to win."

The match takes place on Friday week in Monaco, the Spaniards qualified by winning the Europa League, when Forlan scored twice in the final. Meanwhile, Inter lifted the Champions League trophy back in May.

Forlan had previously been linked with a move to Inter following his positive exploits at the World Cup, but recently reiterated his desire to remain with his current team.
