Espanyol Close In On Real Betis Striker Sergio Garcia - Report
Betis striker to return to the city of his youth....
By Andrew McLean
Espanyol have made an offer to Real Betis and are awaiting the decision of the club over striker Sergio Garcia's future according to Mundodeportivo.
At the very least the Barcelona blue and whites hope to secure the forward on a year-long loan deal as negotiations continue, but Espanyol are willing to give Betis time to consider their options.
Other clubs have shown an interest, including La Liga new boys Hercules, but their offer is thought to be inferior to Espanyol's. The Periquitos have been long term admirers of the Barcelona youth product and don't want to let this opportunity pass them by, especially as Valencia are thought to be considering the player also.
According to reports, Sergio Garcia, who previously stated his ambition to remain with Real Betis, is happy to make the switch.
