Villarreal midfielder Marco Senna says that he is delighted to be on the radar of Spanish champions Barcelona but admits that no talks have been conducted between the two clubs.

Recent reports have linked Senna with a move to Barcelona, who are seeking reinforcements in the defensive midfield department after having sold Yaya Toure to Manchester City earlier in the summer. Barca coach Pep Guardiola is reportedly in search of a back-up to Sergio Busquets and Senna has emerged as the most viable option.

Senna, who is in the Republic of Ireland with Villarreal on a pre-season tour, has admitted that he's honoured to be linked with a move to the Spanish champions.

"For me it's an honour and a dream that Barca are thinking of me," he told Spanish reporters.

"There's nothing yet, but just the fact they are thinking of me is an honour."

The 34-year-old's agent, however, believes that if Barcelona do come up with an offer, then the Brazilian-born midfielder will accept it.

"It would be the crowning moment of his sporting career," Eli Coimbra told El Mundo Deportivo. "I'm certain that if Barca speak to Villarreal, the club's directors won't put up any obstacles to stop him from leaving.

"In these eight years at the club, Senna has never had a problem with the club. On the contrary, he has always been very professional and they would understand that going to Barca would be a unique opportunity."
