Versatile Borussia Dortmund attacker Nelson Haedo Valdez has attracted the interest of recently promoted Primera Division outfit Hercules with his good performances for Paraguay at the 2010 World Cup, according to a report in Diario Informacion.
The Liga outfit are desperate to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2010-11 campaign in order to be competitive at the top level and they supposedly see Nelson Valdez as the perfect addition to their front line.
The 26-year-old Valdez joined Borussia Dortmund from Werder Bremen in the summer of 2006 and has since made over 100 Bundesliga appearances for BVB. However, the attacker has lost his spot in the starting XI and could therefore be on his way out of the club.
The forward's current deal with Dortmund runs until the summer of 2012, but they appear to be ready to cash in on Valdez if an offer of €5 million comes in this summer.
Hercules reportedly face stiff competition in the race for the attacker's signature. PSV and Sunderland are also believed to be keeping tabs on Valdez.
