As reported by Marca, Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho conducted a fast-paced training session this morning in the first of Los Blancos' two-a-day pre-season training sessions. In the 15 minutes that the session was open to the media, Mourinho's men trained strongly, engaging in a full speed scrimmage (including some strong tackles) under the direction of the Portuguese coach.

Ten players from the first team (Adan, Drenthe, Gago, Garay, Diarra, Lass, Marcelo, Granero, Pedro Leon, and Benzema) were joined by eight second team players (Tebar, Nacho, Alex Fernandez, Morata, Juanfran, Carvajal, Joselu, and Mejias) to take part in the session. Goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek trained indoors, while Royston Drenthe could be seen wearing a splint on a finger on his right hand, which he injured in a fall, but trained normally.

Of particular note in the training session was the attention Mourinho paid to French striker Karim Benzema, who has had a difficult few days after being charged with soliciting a minor for sex in France. The Portuguese coach could be seen speaking with the striker and his body language seemed to suggest comfort and support for the player.
