Barcelona Eye Villarreal's Bruno To Fill Defensive Midfield Void - Report

The departure of Yaya Toure has left Guardiola with a headache...

By Andrew McLean

Bruno, Villarreal
Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is looking to Villarreal's Bruno to cover the departure of Yaya Toure to Manchester City, according to reports.

More familiar names have been linked with Camp Nou, Javier Mascherano and Javi Martinez for example, but with Barca's purse strings pulling ever tighter no real movement has occurred. With budgets in mind, Bruno could prove to be the best option.

Guardiola is an admirer of the midfielder's physical strenght and ability; Bruno has two years left on his contract at the Yellow Submarine and is refusing to extend for the time being.

Goal.com Spain reports that €10 million should be enough to tempt Villarreal to part with the Spaniard, who came through their youth system and broke into the first team in 2006.
