Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign Villarreal forward Giuseppe Rossi, according to Spanish publication AS.
It is claimed that coach Rafael Benitez is keen to land the 23-year-old in order to boost the Reds attacking options as Liverpool become the latest name in a list of possible suitors for the former Manchester United forward.
It is understood that Liverpool could muster a €14 million bid for Rossi, with Spanish outcast Albert Riera a possible makeweight in the deal. Riera has previously been linked in a player-plus cash move for Valencia's Nikola Zigic and seems destined to be pawned off in a transfer deal this summer.
Rossi has previously been linked with a move to Manchester City and Italian sides Milan and long-time admirers Juventus.
