Barcelona expectedly continued their celebrations infront of their own fans long and hard into the evening after clinching the Primera Division title with a thumping 4-0 win over Real Valladolid at the Camp Nou.
Coach Pep Guardiola took to the pitch amidst the revelry to speak to the supporters to express his gratitude.
“Thank you, president. And thank you to the players because they are one of a kind. And to you... the best fans in the world. This is for you. We owe you one,” he was quoted as saying by Marca.
On Saturday, we would like to be somewhere that we cannot. We owe this to you,” he added, referring to the Champions League final at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Barca players then took turns to address the crowd, starting with Xavi: “They tried to stop us but they could not. Here we are again. To the best fans in the world!”
Victor Valdes: “We have won this title after overcoming our greatest rival. This is for you, the fans.”
Andres Iniesta: “Thanks to all of you I have managed to overcome a very difficult season. Next year, we will repeat this.”
Gerard Pique: “It’s great to be back here. It’s a joy to be back infront of the fans after going through a successful season.”
