Speaking about last night's match, Xabi admitted that Barca's loss was viewed as "neither good nor bad" for the Blancos with respect to the Liga title race.
"Time will tell", said the midfielder philosophically, but also declared his confidence that Barca would drop points in their weekend visit to Villarreal while hoping that Madrid would be able to beat Osasuna.
With their attention on the end of the season, Alonso affirmed that Madrid were intent on "winning everything" and that the side are "playing very well in these final matches," although he was quick to admit that "we do not depend on ourselves."
The Basque also commented on Kaka's return as "great news for us" and with respect to doubts on Lassana Diarra's role in the team by declaring that "he is working very hard and knows that every player fills a certain role at every given time."
